For some of us, the holidays bring about a time of reflection. A time of remembering the things we are thankful for and a time of saddness for the loss of loved ones that we wish were here to enjoy this time with us. Over the past few weeks, I have come across many pictures of my "big brother", Byron. Byron was 34 when he was called home to be with the Lord. He died of cancer. Byron and my brother, Matt were in the Air Force together and Byron spent many holidays with our family. He was the "brother" who planned my 16th Birthday Surprise Party and taught me how to drive a stick shift (not an easy task!!). He was the one who showed up at the doctor's office to help my mom carry me to the car when I had passed out from the medications from getting my wisdom teeth out. He was a dear friend and is greatly missed by my entire family. While I know he is no longer in pain, he is no longer suffering, and he is experiencing a joy and peace that we all long for, I still miss him. Merry Christmas, Byron!

A little taste of Byron's sense of humor :-)
